So this may have been the greatest two weeks of my life. And it all started with being jobless.

For about two weeks now, i’ve woken up wondering what the hell to do with my day. The first two days are the strangest. I feel like i should be somewhere, doing something, and getting paid for it. In the absence of such tasks, i’ve written more, arranged more, and sung more than i have in a long while.
I’ve also consumed more alcohol than any one man should in a two week span.

The CHI-TOWN STUNNAS, my band with canvass chum and fellow roosevelt sucker Lisa Czaplicki, has been rehearsing at a clip of 2 per week, with lots of laser cat photos and beyonce love peppered in between songs. We’ve officially got enough material for an open mic, so i’m excited to unleash our mundanity upon the world. Lisa and i have a special bond that transcends music. and space. and time. She is, in a very strange way, one of the most generous people I know.
Frankie and Johnny, the r&b juggernaut, continues to pick up steam, with us having solidified a rehearsal time, and picked up a guitarist, 2 background singers, and a (possible) drummer. I’ve got a dastardly plan for our first single, and i’m excited to unleash it on the world.

I’ve got a bunch of promo photos up now, too, so that folks know I mean bidness. Check em’ out when you get a chance.

Now, the important part. I’ve been consuming booze at an alarming rate. It’s been wonderful. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten this close to being that guy who knows a bunch of bartenders and gets free shots. But here I am. Jacob, Patrick, and Bobby, my trio of white horsemen, have been my saving grace in what could have been quiet, productive nights at home. The Oakwood, on Montrose and Damen, is slowly becoming my favorite bar in the city. Also, my long standing complaint about never seeing any music is starting to dissipate as I venture out more and more to see folks release albums and play their nuts off. If anyone wants to go out. Ever. Hit me up.

And last but not least, Wexley School for Girls, That Irreverent Rock Duo, is writing and recording it’s debut album tonight at Jedd Bittles’ place from 6pm to 6am. Come by and contribute something to this ridiculous idea, and make sure we stay awake for the duration of the proceedings.
One love.
I don’t mean that.
